Some past memories explained in photos
My first set of professional business cards were created in 1997. Prior to that, I would just write my name and phone number on the top of the generic proposals I bought at Office Max.
Funny fact: My first 3 cleaning accounts I didn't even write out a proposal. When I met Mr. Clem Eckert at the WNY Food Bank, we sat in his office after touring the facility, He asked "what I thought" and I was looking at my notes and said "we can cleaning your offices for $400.00 per month". He said "are you sure that number will work for you"? I said "Yes, Sir". He said "when can you start" and "I said tomorrow". Our contract was official based solely on a handshake.
Here we have some of the very first postcards and note sets.
The top left is a postcard simply of myself holding a broom with white background. I used these as mailings as well as personal notes i would leave for my customers on their desks. The upper middle was just our logo with a blank backside. Again, we would use these as mailing postcards and would also glue these to notebooks for communication between customers and employees.
The upper right was one of our first slogans put on notepads: "Cleaning your worries away". We used these as notes back and forth to customers as well as little gifts given when we sent out the monthly invoices.
If you ever donated to a charity - I'm sure you have a ton of these. I just added these notepads for fun. I was amazed that I still had all of these in a box that I recently went through. After moving from Minton Street in 2007 I never got around to going through 1/2 the stuff that was boxed up until I recently sold the business. Its amazing the stuff and memories you have when you finally have a little time to go through past belongings :)
